Xiaogan, Hubei – Loudi, Hunan:

湖北孝感- 湖南娄底：

Yunduo’er is again studying, after we’ve finished our buffet, the miniature landscape wreathed in a mist, curiosity getting the better of her, in the hotel lobby just like yesterday. The morning searing heat of an area close to Wuhan notorious as a “hot oven” makes a deep dent in our interest in a wander through the city of Xiaogan, and we jump ship as quickly as we came and make a southwestern bolt for it.

吃完自助，好奇的云朵儿跟昨天一样又在端详酒店大堂里那个雾气昭昭的迷你山景。这里靠近“烤炉”武汉，一大早就热气熏蒸，再无兴致逛逛孝感。来得快，去得也快，赶紧跑，奔向西南。

The sky becomes, after we leave Hubei behind and enter Hunan, more inviting with cumulus clouds and patches of blue instead of a willfully dull, humdrum and off-putting pall all along of the previous two days. It’s still hot, but not that sweltering anymore. We could do with a spot of rain. Towards the end of the 490km journey of the day, the firmament occasionally leaks craved freshwater droplets, helping bring down the boiling temperatures to around 30°C. And there’s an intermittent rain after we arrive in Loudi, Hunan.

出鄂入湘，天空出现卷云和块儿蓝，让人欣喜。那天儿，不像前两天那样闹不登的一大块子，从头至尾铁了心、纯属故意保持不变，毫无当地特色。热还是热，但不传递那么多苦难了。真希望下点儿雨啊！今天这490公里快走完时，天宫真漏下了企盼多时的淡水小珠，滚烫的气温也降至30°C左右。到达湖南娄底后，时不时下起雨来。
