Recently, the TV drama The Litchi Road has been a hit. In the story, a minor official named Li Shande strives to deliver lychees from Lingnan to Chang'an, searching for a way forward amid hardships. As for me — a lychee growing deep in the mountains of Gaozhou, Maoming — I'm about to embark on a journey from the branch in Maoming all the way to Urumqi. Unlike the trials in the drama, my trip will span 4,000 kilometers in just 33 hours.
